Hagerty, the classic car insurer and valuation experts, has announced it has teamed up with RAC Motoring Services to offer RAC Breakdown cover as a benefit for all policyholders.

The news comes as the classic car 'season' gets fully underway with the National celebration of classic cars on 23rd April, better known as Drive It Day.

To celebrate this new partnership, the RAC will be joining Hagerty and 100 cars on a scenic tour throughout the Northants, Bucks and Oxfordshire countryside.

The tour will arrive at Bicester Heritage, where Hagerty will be hosting its Valuation Arena, a live stage for valuing classic cars.

The RAC will be supporting the event with a team of patrols providing backup along the route, and a special appearance from some of its vintage vehicles in the original blue livery adorned with its iconic rhombus logo.

Richard Fuller, head of RAC Commercial Sales, said: “Drive It Day 2017 is a fantastic way to celebrate this new partnership. The RAC has been at the heart of all things motoring since the very early days of the motor car and we’re looking forward to being able to celebrate that heritage with Hagerty during the event on 23rd April, and on an ongoing basis providing breakdown services for its customers.”

Angus Forsyth, Managing Director at Hagerty, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the team at the RAC and working with them to the benefit of all our clients. Since we have been working with the RAC team in the past months, we have been impressed with their positive approach and we look forward to the return of their blue rhombus logo that will resonate with the classic car community enormously."

All Hagerty policies include RAC Breakdown and Recovery throughout the UK and Europe as an automatic benefit. Other benefits include agreed value at no extra cost, choice of repairer, cover for driving in Europe and discounts for club members.
