The RAC has named clean energy company Egg as its newest electric vehicle (EV) charging partner, meaning it will now promote Egg’s home EV chargers to drivers as well as provide exclusive offers to RAC members.

Egg’s 7kW fast home EV chargers, available in both tethered and untethered versions, are now listed alongside options from the RAC’s existing charger partner and are available to purchase through an interest-free monthly payment plan or via an upfront payment.

RAC members purchasing an Egg home EV charger through RAC Rewards will also receive a £70 Amazon.co.uk gift card, with non-members purchasing through rac.co.uk entitled to a card to the value of £35.

Ross Mabon, Chief Commercial Officer at Egg, said:

“It is a privilege for Egg to be working with the RAC, an iconic UK driving services brand and one that is a force behind the electrification of motoring. We feel confident that by working together, we will succeed in helping many more drivers enjoy the benefits that come from switching to electric vehicles and other connected clean energy solutions like solar and home battery storage.”

Mark Adcock, head of brand licensing at the RAC, said:

“We’re excited to begin this partnership with Egg and are pleased to expand our EV home charger options for our members and drivers generally. What’s more, the flexibility to pay for an Egg charger in convenient monthly instalments, as an alternative to paying one upfront sum, is a valuable benefit to anyone ‘going electric’, especially during the current financial climate.”

More details of the chargers available are on the RAC's website for electric car drivers.

Government commits £24bn to road maintenance in 2025 Spending Review - RAC comment
In response to the Government's Spending Review, which commits £24bn of capital funding to road maintenance between 2026 - 2030, RAC head of policy Simon Williams said: “Giving councils the certainty of longer-term funding to fix their roads is something we’ve called for many years, so this is excellent news. Local authorities now have a golden opportunity to end the cycle of merely filling potholes and instead begin to be much more proactive in their maintenance. This must include both more surface dressing to keep decent roads in good condition and resurfacing those that are at the end of their lives. It’s incumbent on councils to grasp this new opportunity and show all road users how it’s making a genuine difference in the quality of the roads they use every day."
