CHERY, one of China’s biggest vehicle manufacturers with a rapidly-growing presence in Europe, has selected the RAC as its UK roadside assistance partner.

The announcement follows the RAC being awarded contracts by both OMODA and JAECOO, CHERY’s two other brands with a UK footprint, and means more drivers than ever will have the peace of mind of the RAC’s acclaimed roadside service.

Customers selecting a new CHERY vehicle from its expanding line-up – which includes the TIGGO 7, TIGGO 8 and flagship TIGGO 9 models, all of which are available, or come as standard (CHERY TIGGO 9) as CHERY Super Hybrids (CSH) plug-in hybrids – receive 12-months comprehensive roadside assistance delivered by the RAC, including cover at home, nationwide recovery and onward travel if needed.

The contract also sees the RAC deliver service-activated roadside assistance, meaning drivers who get their CHERY vehicles serviced at a manufacturer-approved dealership qualify for a further 12-months complimentary breakdown cover.

RAC Business CEO Dan Sparks said:

“We’re delighted to have been selected as CHERY’s roadside assistance partner in the UK, which follows both OMODA and JAECOO choosing the RAC in recent years.

“We expect all three brands to establish themselves as household names here in the UK – indeed two [OMODA and JAECOO] already have a significant share of the new car market, despite being new entrants – and we’re excited to be on this journey with them.

“CHERY UK’s customers receive a comprehensive level of breakdown cover from the RAC, including attendance by our nationwide team of roadside patrols who are committed to delivering an outstanding service to drivers and fix the vast majority of issues there and then.”

Farrell Hsu, CHERY UK Country Director, said:

"Choosing a CHERY is about more than buying a car – it’s a smart choice that brings durability, reassurance and trust. Partnering with the RAC means our customers can feel completely confident on the road, knowing expert assistance is just a call away should they need. It’s also part of our core ethos: helping drivers feel happy, safe and supported every mile of the journey.”

All CHERY models sold in the UK come with a seven-year or 100,000 miles manufacturer’s warranty as standard, with batteries fitted to plug-in hybrid (CHERY Super Hybrid) models benefitting from an eight-year or 100,000 miles warranty.
