LKQ Euro Car Parts, the UK's leading distributor of automotive parts to the independent aftermarket, has extended its partnership with the RAC to continue as the first-line supplier of batteries and parts to the driving services group.

Under the renewed agreement, which runs until April 2031, LKQ Euro Car Parts will supply the RAC's network of mechanics across the UK – helping to keep millions of motorists on the road each year.

The deal builds on a partnership spanning more than a decade, during which LKQ Euro Car Parts has supported the RAC's breakdown patrols, service, maintenance and repair division and Approved Garages network with rapid access to quality parts and industry-leading logistics.

Batteries remain central to the agreement, with LKQ Euro Car Parts providing the RAC with premium quality OEM specification parts and a reliable supply chain to tackle one of the most common breakdown causes.

The importance of robust battery supply was underlined in January, when LKQ recorded its highest-ever battery sales* as Storm Goretti brought severe weather conditions across the UK. The business sold and delivered more than 50,000 batteries in just four days, as demand surged.

Kevan Wooden, CEO at LKQ UK & Ireland, said: "The RAC is trusted by millions of motorists to get them moving again – and we're proud to play a part in that mission. This contract extension reflects the strength of a partnership built over more than 10 years, founded on shared values of reliability, quality and putting customers first.

"Our nationwide distribution network means RAC patrols can access the parts they need, when they need them – helping to resolve faults quickly and get motorists back on the road."

RAC Chief Executive Dave Hobday said: “Continuing our long-standing relationship with LKQ Euro Car Parts ensures our mechanics have reliable access to premium quality batteries and parts through a trusted nationwide supply chain, so our members can have complete peace of mind on the road. This level of support becomes especially critical during periods of heightened demand, such as severe weather.”
